Amplified Change is a nonprofit organization based in Frederick, Maryland, committed to transforming the lives of children who have experienced significant trauma. Research shows that children with four or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) face dramatically higher risks of depression, substance abuse, chronic illness, and academic failure.
In response, Amplified Change is developing Amplified Change Art Academy—a private, state-accredited trauma-informed art school launching in Fall 2027. This full-time school will integrate arts education, therapeutic support, and trauma-sensitive teaching practices to help youth heal emotionally, succeed academically, and express themselves safely and creatively.
To build momentum and serve students immediately, Amplified Change is also launching inclusive afterschool and summer programs open to all youth. These programs offer creative outlets, resilience-building tools, and a sense of belonging, while laying the foundation for the academy’s long-term impact.
Our vision is bold but clear: to redefine what school can be for youth impacted by trauma—and to build a community where art becomes a pathway to healing, growth, and lifelong success.
To empower children to heal from trauma and build resilience through the transformative power of art and education in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
To become a nationally recognized model for trauma-informed education that transforms lives through the intersection of art and education.
